FIVIA 2025 : International Video and AI Festival

Between the alive, the living, the livable and the unlivable

This edition is dedicated to survival, in its aesthetic, political, and philosophical sense. This need presents itself to our generation as an urgency to highlight.
There is a discursive parallel between technologies and the semantic fields of the Anthropocene. The matrix of reality and new virtual universes; AI, its neural and collaborative network. There exists a network of philosophical collaboration and processes aimed at restoring balance and livable futures, where survival is not a way of life.
Survival is a dual way of approaching the festival’s theme, both in form and content. On the one hand, it considers the survival of a world in conflict that exceeds its ecological, political, and identity limits. On the other hand, it addresses survival from a technological perspective in the face of new forms of creation made possible by AI.
The screenings are, in turn, divided into sections. Between the lively, the living, the livable, and the unlivable. These four paradigms explore notions of technical survival, human survival, ecology, and real possibilities for imagining possible futures.

Program :

Opening on June 19:

16h > 19h : Installations
3 Hologramme AI vidéos – “GAN”
3 VR headsets – “Más allá de las límes
1 video – “Semipermeable: Syringe

GAN – Generative Adversarial Nuisance
A series of video performances that critically examine the interaction between the human body and artificial intelligence through the lens of computer vision algorithms.
This project explores the disturbing ways in which these technologies, often perceived as neutral tools for interpreting and categorizing human identity, perpetuate deep-rooted racial and gender biases, reflecting and reinforcing global inequalities. Each video in the series is structured around a binary juxtaposition of “human + computer” components. On one side, the input: unfiltered videos of human expressions, gestures, and movements. On the other, the output: the AI’s algorithmic interpretation, distorted by reductive biases and stereotypes.

Semipermeable: Syringe
The subjectivities of a queer Latin American person living with HIV in the borderlands between the United States and Mexico are informed by the semi-permeabilities of a set of intertwined membranes—physiological, geographical, social, economic, and emotional divides. Syringe explores these penetrabilities and the effect of information technologies on these constructions.

19h – Opening Performance : Xenoceno – a manifesto in motion

What exists according to AI? Are some realities more real than others? XENOCENO: A MANIFESTO IN MOTION is a performance in which the human body and generative media merge in real time. As the performer dances, their body becomes the input material for a stable diffusion model that is post-processed in real time. Claudix Vanesix will present his latest research on AI as a generative tool for performance art, while unveiling key concepts for understanding the new ontological shift where the perception of reality is no longer solely a capacity of
living organisms.

20h – AI interactive DJ set
“edna”

Closing date: June 20:

16h > 19h : Installations :

Semipermeable: Syringe – MARCO SERAFIN
The subjectivities of a queer Latin American person living with HIV in the borderlands between the United States and Mexico are informed by the semi-permeabilities of a set of intertwined membranes—physiological, geographical, social, economic, and emotional divides. Syringe explores these penetrabilities and the effect of information technologies on these constructions.

7pm – Film screenings & conversation with the artists

EMI OFE // IGI LOLA
The artist continues her research using AI tools to create a film narrative. The work is a journey through the experience of African immigration in France, from the perspective of immigrant women. Working on the inner lives of these women, Ayedun reflects on sexual exploitation, the hypersexualization of Black women, and the commodification of Black and LGBTQIA+ bodies with humanity and sensitivity. The interaction between the tools used and
the human tone of the narrative highlights the resistance of these bodies—of these images—to objectification.
