Creative residencies

Mediterranean Residences

Fields: Visual arts, photography, music.
CHRONIQUES is a partner in the program for the visual arts.
Eligible participants:
Artists from the Mediterranean region, including Morocco, Algeria, Albania, Turkey, Egypt, Tunisia, and Palestine.

Résidences Méditerranée is a program run by La Friche la Belle de Mai for artists from around the Mediterranean—Morocco, Algeria, Albania, Turkey, Egypt, Tunisia, and Palestine—in Marseille, to encourage their mobility in the Mediterranean region.

CHRONIQUES is a partner of the program in the field of visual arts.

Locations and duration

Three months of support in a residential facility at La Friche la Belle de Mai, Marseille (FR).

Objectives
  • Hosting emerging artists from countries around the Mediterranean
  • Facilitating mobility and encounters between artists from countries around the Mediterranean
  • Create a research laboratory without any obligation to produce results
  • Ensure contact with professionals in the region
Calendar

The call for applications for the residency is launched in the spring. The three-month residency is scheduled for the beginning of the following year.

S+T+ARTS International Residencies

Support and residency program in Africa

Fields: Digital arts.
As part of the European S+T+ARTS Afropean Intelligence project.
Eligible individuals:
Permanent resident artists or nationals of an African country.

International residencies 2025–2026:
Support and residency program in Africa (Tunisia, Egypt, South Africa) as part of the European S+T+ARTS Afropean Intelligence project.

Of the ten residencies, four will be mentored by CHRONIQUES, in partnership with B’sarya for Arts in Alexandria, Fak’ugesi in Johannesburg, and Interference in Tunis.

Every two years, the winning projects from the CHRONIQUES CRÉATIONS production platform benefit from residencies with our partners and platform members with a view to presenting them at the 2026 Biennale des Imaginaires Numériques.
