In response to changes in digital technology and its uses, and to better support hybrid and transdisciplinary forms of artistic creation in the digital environment, the Ministry of Culture is setting up regional resource hubs with a view to better structuring the ecosystem.
The aim is to support artists and professionals and to structure ecosystems and cooperation at the regional level, particularly in terms of production and distribution.
Initially, five pilot regions were designated in consultation with the DRACs of Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur, Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes, and the DRACs of the Greater West (Normandy, Brittany, and Pays de la Loire), which are working to create interregional momentum.
Support the creation and consolidate the areas of support for the production and dissemination of artists in the digital environment in the region through financial and technical contributions and the provision of workspace and specific artistic expertise in the field of digital environment creation.
Facilitate the dissemination of artistic projects and extend their lifespan in the region and beyond, at national and international level, by including them in the dissemination networks of partner organizations.
Bring together and coordinate a network of co-producers (cultural organizations, cultural industries, higher education, research) in the region to develop experience sharing and collaboration. Familiarize cultural organizations with artistic creation in a digital environment with a view to expanding its dissemination.
The Biennial of Digital Imaginaries now brings together an ecosystem of international and regional co-producers and distributors, as well as initiatives for the creation, distribution, and mediation of works. The first step will therefore be to promote these mechanisms in order to continue accelerating, developing, and structuring the digital creation sector.
