The CHRONIQUES educational proposal is part of the annual Artistic and Cultural Education programme co-organised with the DAAC of the Aix-Marseille Academy: “Une rentrée numérique”.

In order to prepare this educational event, teachers can access an education kit and an online resource platform on digital arts, Repères numériques.

“Une rentrée numérique” 2021 takes place from 11 November 2021 to 6 March 2022 with a training programme included in the Academic Training Plan (reserved for secondary school teachers in the Bouches-du-Rhône), guided tours, and practical workshops.

This year’s programme will revolve around three proposals, each dealing with a different theme and digital art practice:

  • The installation of three works by the artist Guillaume Marmin in Arles and Marseille. Guillaume Marmin, in the line of kinetic art, questions our relationship to space, particularly museum and heritage space, thanks to light.
    • Hara at the Frères Prêcheurs church from 6 to 24 October 2021
    • Silent Music 2 at the Musée départemental de l’Arles Antique from October 1st to 31st 2021
    • Timée at the town hall of the 13/14th district on 10, 11 and 12 December 2021.
  • A monographic exhibition dedicated to the animation filmmaker Boris Labbé in Aix-en-Provence at the Espace culturel départemental – 21, bis Mirabeau from 10 November 2021 to 20 February 2022 and at the Musée des Tapisseries from 3 December 2021 to 6 March 2022. Boris Labbé draws his inspiration from the history of art, particularly the Flemish masters, to question our relationship with the world and to abolish the borders between the arts.

  • The shows “The Ordinary Circus Girl” by the company Fheel Concept and “Fugue VR” by Yoann Bourgeois will be presented as part of the International Biennale of Circus Arts (BIAC) in Aix-en-Provence on 3, 4 and 5 February 2022. These shows combine virtual reality and circus performance.

Each year, in addition to visits and workshops, CHRONIQUES offers teachers artistic and cultural education projects within the framework of municipal, departmental (Action éducative en Collège, PAME) and regional (INES) schemes.

Do not hesitate to contact us to co-construct your project with us.

Some ongoing projects:

  • The Digital Factory / Middle School / 8-hour tour / Immersion in the heart of the ZINC Fablab at the Friche la Belle de Mai and introduction to numerically controlled machines
  • My first animated film / Secondary school / 8-hour tour / Discovery of animation work, accompanied by the intervening artist Loïse Bulot, in connection with the exhibition “L’infini turbulent” by Boris Labbé

The health crisis has profoundly changed the contours of the 2020 edition of Une Rentrée Numérique. The CHRONIQUES mediation team was keen to maintain the link with teachers despite the closure of cultural institutions and proposed :

  • The “Holographic Ghost” workshop of digital art practice in schools from 5 to 21 January 2021. Inspired by the “Ghost in the Machine” exhibition presented at 21bis Mirabeau – Espace départemental culturel, the workshop benefited more than 600 pupils from a dozen elementary schools in Marseille.

  • Two educational capsules around two works presented in the exhibition “Eternity part 2: What do we want to grow on the ruins? “at the Friche la Belle de mai: “The Appendix human” by Paul Gong and “Sylvia” by Stéfane Perraud. Each capsule has two parts: a presentation of the work and a simple digital creation activity.
